Pico Cuadro Seleccionada Tempranillo

We all have that friend.

Mr. Cool.

Mr. Killin'-it.

Mr. "I Invested in that dotcom when the bonuses were free pizza."

Mr. "She's only been in one lingerie ad."

He's a bastard. But he's drinking this wine.

  • Smell

A beguiling scent of blackberry, raspberry and star anise.

Deeply rich and spicy with big flavors like blackberry and plum. This old vine tempranillo produces concentrated flavors. This wine is the middle one in Pico Cuadro's Trio of tempranillo and it provides a silkier, smoother taste than the entry level wine.

If this wine was a person, it would be

Brian Ferry from Roxy Music: at the Top of His Game.

Why you need to try it

It's weeknight magic in a glass. Handpicked grapes plus deep granite soils ensures exceptional quality. Pairs well with beef and lamb stews. Vintage 2010 was a good year for tempranillo.

  • Origin

Spain in the Ribera del Duero region. This region rivals Rioja as Spain's number one red wine producing region.

  • Producing hand-crafted wines, winemakers These combine exhaustive fieldwork with efficient modern winemaking techniques. Felipe Castrillo Martin learnt his trade at Vega Sicilia, one of Spain's most prestigious wine estates.

The winery is also in extremely good company. It's just 30m from Peter Sisseck's Dominio de Pingus, which produces 'cult wines' that sell for hundreds of pounds.
